I’m the photographer and storyteller behind S+M Creative Co.

I’m a working‑class UP native who found home in the small Mid‑Michigan village of Sterling, where I’m building my craft and raising my family. When I’m not taking pictures, I’m usually in the woods running my hounds, in the garden, or baking something sourdough — working animals and simple living are a big part of who I am.

Photography has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. When I finally got my first Canon DSLR in 2025, everything clicked into place. I fell in love with documenting real life — the grit, the heart, and the moments that don’t need posing to matter.

My approach is documentary and honest. I photograph what’s actually happening, not what’s staged. From hound hunts and field trials to county fairs, barrel races, seniors, and families, I focus on images that feel real, textured, and full of story. If you want photos that look like you — not stiff or forced — you’re in the right place.

My long‑term goal is to become a full‑time photographer specializing in working animals, their handlers, elopements, and creative portraits at prices everyday families can afford.

I know being in front of a camera can feel awkward, so I keep sessions relaxed and natural. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I won’t force you into poses that don’t feel like you.
